It’s been on our plate for a while and we have been working on it very hard. And now… it’s here. Diningverse is now linked with Facebook.
Many Diningverse patrons have suggested in the past that it would be great to somehow post the restaurant recommendations on their Facebook wall as well as on Diningverse and on the restaurant profile. We have now completed the first stage of connecting Diningverse with Facebook using the Facebook Connect functionality.
Every Diningverse patron (with or withoun a Facebook account) can now ellect to have every recommendation automatically re-posted on their Facebook Wall as well as in the News Feed on thier Facebook friends’ pages.
This new feature is fully automated and it is extremely simple to start using it. Here is how it works…
Post your recommendation … as always.
Browse around Diningverse and when you arrive to an independent local restaurant you like you can leave your recommendation… as always.
Diningverse Recommendation Page
Simply click the “I want to recommend this restaurant!” link (highlighted on the picture above) and start typing your recommendation.
Type recommendation and post
After typing in the recommendation, leave the Publish this recommendation to my Facebook checked and click the Recommend! button (as highlighted on the picture above).
Connect your Facebook account
As the next step, you’ll connect your Facebook account with your Diningverse account. You will need to complete this step only one time.
Complete the Facebook Connect dialog
A “Facebook Connect” dialog will appear in a pop-up window. As you can see in the picture above, you’ll have the option to Sign Up or Log in to Facebook. There is a third option, if you’re currently logged in to Facebook, within the browser you’re using, the dialog will simply ask you to confirm the connection.
Publish your recommendation on Facebook
After you have completed the Facebook Connect setup and your Diningverse and Facebook accounts are linked, you will receive a confirmation to Publish the recommendation on your Facebook Wall as well as in your friends’ News Feeds.
Confirmation that your recommendation has been posted on Facebook
You’ll receive a confirmation message that the recommendation has been posted on your Wall and in your friends’ News Feeds (and will now appear on their home pages).
Your Recommendation is now on Diningverse and Facebook
Now you can see your recommendation on Diningverse.

You can also find your recommenation on your Facebook home page. Your friends can even Like It or leave a comment for your recommendation.
